Privacy Policy
Effective August 4, 2026
SetPath helps young people explore careers and build useful skills. This policy explains in plain language what information we collect, why we need it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information: your email address, encrypted password, or Google account details when you use Google sign-in. Profile and activity information: your name, role, preferences, onboarding and assessment answers, AI-generated career matches, coaching progress, projects, and any profile information you choose to publish. Coaching content: messages and other content you submit to AI coaching features. Device and payment information: an Expo push token if you enable notifications, subscription status and Stripe customer identifiers, and basic website usage data collected by Vercel Analytics. Stripe handles card details; SetPath does not store them.
How we use information
We use this information to create and secure your account, personalize career guidance, generate matches and coaching responses, save your progress, deliver requested notifications, process and manage subscriptions, understand whether the website works well, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Services that help us
We share only the information needed to provide SetPath with trusted service providers: Supabase for authentication and database storage; Nous Research's inference API for AI coaching and career features; Stripe for checkout, billing, and subscription management; Expo for push notifications; and Vercel for hosting and privacy-focused website analytics. These providers process information under their own privacy and security terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
Storage, security, and retention
Information may be processed or stored in countries where our providers operate. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including managed authentication and access controls, but no online service can promise absolute security. We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting duties, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Your choices and rights
You can update profile details and control whether your portfolio is public in SetPath. Depending on where you live, you or your parent or guardian may ask to access, correct, export, restrict, object to the use of, or delete personal information, or withdraw consent. You may disable notifications in your device settings. Contact us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity first. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Young people
SetPath is designed for teens. If local law requires permission from a parent or guardian before a young person can use the service or provide personal information, that permission must be obtained. Parents or guardians may contact us about a young person's information. If we learn that information was collected without required permission, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SetPath changes. We will post the new version here, change the effective date, and provide additional notice when a change is important.
